Love BFR bands and the results they produce. They sewing of them creates a space that doesn't allow the cuffs to get fully on the top of the arm or the leg, so I have to pull skin out b4 pumping them up to be sure they get locked into the correct place. The ones that were made from earlier years had less of a hem from where the air pumps up into than the new ones. Making placement of the inflatable area in a slightly lower place than previous renditions of the bands.
I have been using an older rendition of the bands at my SPartan Taining center thaat I love, then when I bought my own, the seam is different and doesn't land right on the correct spot, so I have to adjust each cuff every time b4 I inflate them to be sure they ar on the correct spot. Maybe because they aren't broken in as well?

Compared to other similar style BFR units I have used these appear cheap. There is no branding on the cuffs (unlike the pictures) and there is no overlap under the buckle which can be uncomfortable. These will do for now until I can upgrade.

Initial results seemed iffy as far as comfort and mobility while using the cuffs. However, when I sent a chat on the Edge website, I got a quick, thorough, and effective response, which has led to me really liking these. I have tried other pumped cuff BFR bands, I would consider more comfortable, but at twice the cost, and not worth the difference. I've also used inexpensive elastic strap kinds that I have liked, but do not get the consistent level of occlusion the Edge cuffs do. I feel good about choosing to go high end with pumped cuff bands, and would recommend Edge as a good value.

I don't know why BFR is not used more in Physical Therapy. It really does help speed up healing. This kit is well made and works as expected. The only thing I would do differently is to have a more detailed dial on the sphygmomanometer face for more accurate pressure adjustments. Otherwise, excellent kit.

I have been doing kaatsu, now called blood flow restricted, training for 20 years, initially with a thigh blood pressure cuff for the legs. When I got an opportunity to look for a better option, the EDGE system popped up. I bought one and subsequently another. They are well-fitting, easy-applying, air-holding units that make BFR almost but not quite a joy, if not for the client, at least for me, the trainer.

I've been using blood-flow restriction bands for a little over a year, but then found the EDGE cuffs. While the connection from the pump to the cuffs can be a little fussy, the ability to more acutely adjust the pressure of the cuff is wonderful. I've been using the cuffs for about two weeks and have really found that they help me work harder in my exercise. I especially like how the cuffs offer a better blood-flow restriction to the legs, which for me was difficult to achieve with BFR straps. Good work, EDGE Mobility.

Over all, I like the product. The bands can be a bit uncomfortable squatting, but this can be affected by adjusting the cuff pressure (80% AOP might be a bit too high). A wider leg cuff might be preferable. My arm cuff lose pressure over the a set of repetitions (I have to add air between sets), but they are nevertheless effective.

One week ago I had ACL recon surgery. As part of my rehab my PT had me buy the cuffs. I use them now while I’m on the CPM machine and will continue to use them once I move to more aggressive therapy as well as into the training phase. I have osteoarthritis in my knees but am a pro bodybuilder. Heavy squatting for leg growth is no longer an option. These bad boys allow me to lift with less weight but still make growth possible.
Definitely recommend. But make sure you have a PT show you how to use.

I am 66 yrs old, male, in reasonably good health. I have been playing soccer for more than 46 yrs. "Addiction" is an understatement. I had ACL replacement in the right knee in 1990. Both knees are showing advanced arthritis. I do a wide range of activities to help with them. I have a treadmill (Wooday, The Curve) that I try to do 3 miles a day on. I also swim, bicycle, and hit the weight room on a regular basis. I have a group of older players I meet to play with twice a week on a very, very nice indoor field here in Colorado, and I do a lot of stretching and other activities prior to and after playing. I take Celebrex several times a week, which does help a lot. Both knees are iced after I play. I also do something called ARP Wave therapy several times a week that helps significantly. However . . .
I have also reached a stage where mobility is decreasing significantly. Two motorcycle accidents and shoulder surgery the past decade have not helped, although I did not injure the legs, but weeks or months of immobility took a toll that I had issues recovering from. The bottom line is this: over the past decade I have seen a slow but steady decline in mobility, accompanied by a sharp increase in pain in the knee joints. I can't walk up or downstairs easily, and the past several years just simple moving has become more and more of a chore. I do get Orthovisc injections, a synovial fluid replacement (NOT cortisone), every six months in both knees, and it does help a lot, despite claims in some studies it is not effective. I can tell when I'm getting close to six months. I manage to limp around the soccer field twice a week, mainly yelling at the younger players to pass better, but even that has become problematic. Part of the problem is that there are pains that so bad it causes muscles to literally shut down. Suddenly running, cutting, stopping all cause pain and can even cause the leg to fail briefly. My orthopedic doctor recommended therapy, which I have done before, and so I started again early in December 2019.
The therapist recommended as part of the therapy trying something called Blood Flow Restriction training. I go to one of the top physical therapy groups in Colorado, and they had just recently been okayed by the doctors to start trying BFR. I agreed to try it, but was given and had no expectations about it one way or the other. Typically my knees respond well to therapy and exercise--they feel pretty good immediately afterward. The problem has always been a few hours and days after the workout, when the pain and stiffness return--in spades.
BFR training basically means doing exercise with a tourniquet on the leg, legs, or arms. The therapy I followed included BFR training using a Delfi device and cuffs that establish a baseline pressure and then inflate to a pressure determined by the initial calibration. I follow a protocol that does not require special equipment beyond the inflation device and cuffs: isometric exercises like single-leg lifts, leg extensions, clamshell, heel slides, and squats. After the cuff is inflated--I only do single leg--I do 30 reps, 15 reps, 15 reps, 15 reps (total of 75) with 30 seconds of rest between each series. The cuff is inflated during reps and rest. After the last set, the cuff is deflated, and the machine cannot inflate it again for a minimum of 60 seconds. I do a series of five different exercises, as mentioned prior. I think a switch to the other leg and repeat.
After the first session, my legs felt good, but that was nothing new. They always feel good for a while after most of the stretching and activities I've done. What blew me away was this: after my second session (rehab is one week between sessions) I noticed that the next day my legs felt pretty good. Still stiff when I first got up, but they felt stronger, I could move easier and with less pain. This is after two sessions. By the third session I was totally blown away. I understand the placebo effect (taught science for 40 years) and have experienced it (glucosamine, anyone?), but this was going on longer and better than any placebo ever did. I noticed on the soccer field I was moving better and easier and faster. On the treadmill I was suddenly moving quite a bit faster and easier than I had been.
But I also knew: these sessions were not going to go forever. Rehab is not continual, and I needed a way to continue BFR and go further with it. I began to look for equipment I could use on my own. The problem is that devices like the Delfi are incredible and top-notch, but they are really expensive, and I'm not even sure could be purchased outside a medical or other licensed practice. I began to do research, and started with straps. I purchased the best-recommended ones. The problem with straps is that you can't calibrate the pressure. The other problem was that even getting them to an approximately similar tightness to what I had been using was nearly impossible. And there are horror stories of people using straps incorrectly, causing nerve or muscle damage, and even blood clots.
I came across the EDGE Restriction System BFR system while looking for equipment, and decided to give it a try. There is a very reasonable "return for any reason" guarantee with them that made it seem worthwhile trying.
It is amazing. Because I still had access to a $5000+ device, I could test the EDGE Restriction System cuff (I only bought one leg cuff and pump) and calibrate it very accurately. For the record, it calibrates very well to the Delfi device. More importantly, it works just as well. Although rehab has ended, I now do BFR three times per week. I continue to notice improvements in mobility, pain, and just moving around. I can't explain it. I can leg press 600 lbs ten times and do six sets, no problem. An hour later I can still barely walk. The BFR stuff I'm doing is simple isometric exercises--but my legs feel stronger and better, and in turn, I feel stronger, better, and a million times happier. The long, slow, inevitable decline I was experiencing has stopped. I'm actually getting better.
I watched a video of the doctor behind the EDGE Restriction System cuff system, Dr. Erson Religioso III, DPT, FAAOMPT, explaining some aspects of it. It's similar to a lot of promotional videos for everything from fruits in a pill to testosterone boosters to telemere enhancers to stop skin sagging products, with one big difference: this really works for me. It's not bogus. You don't have to "have faith" or "be open." It's working. The video I watched describes BFR as "anti-aging medicine for the busy baby boomer"--and it really is. I have posted this on my FB page and am boring the heck out of all my soccer buddies describing it to them and telling them to try it. All I can say is this: I am walking (and running) proof that BFR is not just some kind of fad. I whole-heartedly and without reservation recommend the EDGE Restriction System BFR cuffs. My next purchase is going to be the complete set for legs and arms.
With that in mind, let me close the review with this warning: BFR is NOT something you should just start doing. The protocols are important to follow. One basic idea is that you are building up lactic acid in the muscles quickly, and the body is responding by sending growth hormones and other healing agents to the region. Do not do this without talking to experts at EDGE Mobility System or rehab practice with certified therapists first. Several different sites have stated that the 30 seconds rest between reps is critically important. I personally want to learn more about BFR and other exercises I can do with it beyond the ones I started with, but I will be following guided protocols and not just trying my "own thing."

I purchased both leg and arm cuffs about a month ago. They are easy to put on and fairly comfortable. The pressure gauge can be slightly difficult to clip to the cuff. I'm a cyclist and purchased the Edge System with endurance as opposed to strength and hypertrophy in mind. I'm only doing body weight exercises. I haven't been using the system long enough to determine if there's improvement in endurance. As a cyclist I'd rather not gain size or weight but my arms are already noticeably larger and my weight has been at and above the high end my normal range for over a week. If size and weight gain outstrip improvements in conditioning I'll have to rethink how I use the product. I have one complaint. After putting the cuffs on I inflate then to the desired pressure. After moving around and flexing I have to re-inflate them due to a drop in pressure. Then, even after this initial adjustment, by the end of my workout the pressure will have dropped by about 30mmHg of pressure. This is uniform on all cuffs. All in all, it seems like a good system for the price.

I've been doing blood flow restriction training for 6 weeks now to build my quads. Up until 3 weeks ago, I was using wraps to perform the occlusion. Now that I am using the occlusion cuffs I am finding the quad growth seems to have escalated and is actually noticeable, and they are so easy to use. I can ensure a consistent level of restriction that I couldn't with the wraps,
and have freedom of movement when wearing them for leg press, goblet squats and leg extensions. So glad I bought them!

This product is all it cracks up to be. I have been using Kaatsu/ blood flow restricted training on my knee OA clients since the early 2000s, and on myself for a few years before getting a total knee, with great success. But the large thigh blood pressure cuff isn't nearly as easy to use as the Edge cuff. So this is now my go-to for working with my clients who have OA. It makes life easier for me and them...and still causes quite the burn.

These cuff are by far superior in quality and comfort. The customer service is exceptional as well. I had a minor issue with a couple valves leaking air and edge mobility completely took care of the issue and made it right! I can’t recommend this product enough! Do yourself a favor and purchase a set!

I've tried BFR cuffs of different brands. You definitely need to spend some money for a safe and effective unit. The Edge system is the best value that I've found. They are comfortable, easy to apply, and detach from the pump making it easier to perform cardio.... stationary bike, stair stepper, and walking on treadmill. They are also comfortable to wear. The only challenge with them is getting the correct pressure so I'm starting to use a doppler for that.
