In this in-depth, 50 module, Dr. Brett Scott educates clinicians on how to effectively evaluate, assess, intervene, manage, and successfully coach athletes back to training pain free.
Crossfitters, powerlifters, olympic lifters, strongmen, and weekend warriors who enjoy strength training are an underserved, misunderstood, and poorly managed patient population as many therapists just don’t have the understanding, experience, and expertise to serve them well.
Many of these patients end physical rehabilitation without being served well enough to go back to sport with the prerequisite strength, understanding, and skill to see a positive long term outcome.
"Brett does an amazing job making the complexities of weightlifting easy and digestible for clinicians. More PTs need exposure to rehabbing weightlifters and this is an amazing resource because of the detail he goes into when breaking down movements. You will feel ready and prepared next time you have an active patient
that wants to get back to lifting weights in your schedule."

Is Buttwink really bad? Dr. Brett discusses myths and misconceptions
Dr. Brett Scott, PT, DPT, USAW-1 is a physical therapist, national weightlifting and powerlifting coach, competitive weightlifter, and entrepreneur as the owner of two physical therapy locations and two strength training facilities.
Brett graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology and a minor of nutrition in 2014 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017.
Throughout academia, Brett gained experience as a strength coach working in various settings including research and testing with the Umass Lowell Men’s Division 1 Ice Hockey Team, high school and collegiate strength and conditioning, as well as personal and small group training. Throughout this time, Brett also pursued his own personal goals in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting where he has gone on to compete at the national level in the Men's 89kg weight class.
Upon graduation of his doctorate degree and with the help of Dr. Kyle Coffey, Brett decided to start his own cash based practice to help strength athletes as he had something unique to offer with his unique strength training background. Barbell Therapy & Performance was born in August of 2017 and has now grown into two locations that offer direct pay and out of network treatment services for athletes and active adults. Along the way, he also built a coaching business for weightlifters and powerlifters which has now transformed into two semi private training facilities known as Arkitect Fitness.
Since graduating, Brett has never lost his passion for learning and education which started quickly upon graduation with a Modern Manual Therapy Course!
In 2017, Dr. Scott became certified in blood flow restriction training through the Modern Strength Training Certification course with Dr. Kyle Coffey. Brett went on further to complete Modern Manual Therapy- The Eclectic Approach series with assessment and treatment of upper quarter, lower quarter, and spinal manipulation programs. He has successfully completed the Modern Patient Education course work with Dr. Andrew Rothschild. Upon completion of these courses fulfilled the course work as a mentee of the Modern Rehab Mastery Program.
Outside of the MMT programs, Brett has gone on to create his own unique learning experiences. Brett has had the opportunity to learn pain science from Dr. Greg Lehman, DC through attending “Reconciling Pain Science and Biomechanics.” From There, he has learned sport specific rehab and resiliency training from the First Principles of Movement Courses with Dr. Craig Leibenson.
To learn more about joint health and joint care, Brett has also completed Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist training with Dr. Andreo Spina, DC. He has also been certified by Dr. Sue Falsone to utilize dry needling for acute and chronic pain.
In 2020, Brett completed a year long mentorship with Dr. Ramez Antoun, PT, DPT, PNF, OMT where he was able to integrate the principles of both neurological and orthopedic physical therapy and was able to greatly improve the quality of care he was able to give to his patients through learning a deeper understanding of fundamental movement principles.
Within his two physical therapy practices, Barbell Therapy & Performance, Brett has become a sought after specialist in working with strength athletes and active adults and has had the opportunity to work with multiple professional athletes, division 1 athletes, professional actors, stuntmen, gymnasts, crossfitters, bodybuilders, weightlifters, and powerlifters. His focus is to teach and coach individuals back to pain free performance through a blend of manual therapy, intelligent program design, patient understanding and patient empowerment.
Aside from rehab, Dr. Scott has been able to successfully navigate himself and his clients from a treatment table to elite level performance where his coaching experiences have gained his team multiple medals at the national level and plans to attend the Pan-American championships for weightlifting in June 2022. He plans to continue to build his track record as a strength coach with the recent expansion of his training facility, Arkitect Fitness.

As a strength coach, bodybuilder, powerlifter and gymnast, I came to Brett with a list of injuries and pain from years of being an athlete.
Brett was confident that he would get me under a barbell again, pain-free. He did just that! I’ve spent years in the fitness industry as a trainer, so I got to see Brett take me from manual therapy and joint health care back to powerlifting within 6 weeks. Each session, I learned more about my body and became stronger. I loved how technical Brett was in delivering cues to my corrective exercise, barbell technique and mental strength. As a coach for more than 10 years, Brett is the only professional I know that truly does rehab and strength training top notch. Just looking at his business success with his clinic, gym, and is now coaching athletes at the international level, there is no one else I would want to learn from these days.
I now send all my gymnasts to him and I have seen huge improvements in recovery time and I noticed Brett sends his patients back to us with such a better understanding of being able to self manage their injury.
I HIGHLY recommend seeking out Brett. Whether you’re looking to compete, get strong, eliminate pain, or learn more in your journey as a coach or therapist— Brett is your guy!

Brett is truly a remarkable clinician and instructor. His years of experience combined with his unique approach in the S+C, and physical therapy worlds make his knowledge something that everyone should strive for. Combine this with an incredible ability to deliver the complexities of detailed topics in a palatable and understandable way, and you can see why he is an amazing instructor.
Anthony Piccirillo, NSCA
I first met Dr. Scott while he was coaching a few of his athletes at a Weightlifting competition, and was surprised to find out he was a DPT, since you rarely meet people in that field that are also actively coaching competitive athletes.
Soon after we brought him in to work with our team on improving their mobility, avoiding injury, and how to maximize their results with many of the often not talked about facets of training. Dr. Scott brings a very unique perspective being both a coach and a practitioner that's hard to come by, and I would recommend anyone jump at the chance to learn from him at a seminar, clinic, or through the online education programs he has.
Tony Pica, USAW-1, Gym owner
Brett's commitment to learning & professional growth to take his athletes to the next level is second to none. He brings this commitment as a strength coach, physical therapist, leader, and business owner. Brett pairs this with a strong passion for bringing "a positive customer experience" to all his patients & clients. These qualities, in my opinion, make Brett an extremely practical educator and a clinician that is changing the "rehab-to-training" game.
